October is fast approaching and two feasts or events that tourists can enjoy are stated below:

Good Food Month

Now, this has to be the most exciting food festival one can go to. Why? It is because it is the biggest food festival in the world that is why. It happens for one whole month in all of Sydney! This festival represents all types of dining from fine-dining dinners to family lunches and all types of street food eating. It does not really matter if you are a chef, a regular diner, a food critic or just a plain old Joe. What is important is that you bring your appetite to the city during the month of October and just enjoy munching on the best flavors Sydney and the world has to offer.

The Good Food Month Festival is the Australians of Sydney’s way of welcoming spring. Tourists and foodies go to this city and participate in more than 500 food events that the festival offers annually. It all started in 2008 when it was still known as the Crave Sydney International Food Festival. The very first weekend of the festival opens with an event called The World Chef Showcase. It gathers some of the best Chefs from all over the planet to facilitate cooking demonstrations with food tastings.

Some of the most sought after segments of the event are the Breakfast on Bondi wherein foodies from all over the world can enjoy the sunrise along Bondi beach’s shores while enjoying filling breakfast food. Then there is the Night Noodle Market, which is held on the grounds of Hyde Park. The park is transformed into an Asian street food market that caters to noodle and dimsum lovers.

This year, Good Food Month will happen starting on a Thursday, Oct 1 until Saturday Oct. 31.

Sydney Rides Festival

This festival gathers all the bicycle riding enthusiasts from all over Australia for a long and fun riding experience in Sydney. This event is going to happen starting the 11th of October all the way to the 25th.

The event organizers have around 20 activities in which all the participants will surely enjoy. These activities include a lighted night harbor ride, film viewings, breakfast eating at various food stalls, epicurean food trucks for meals throughout the day at the harbour and of course a stunt show showcasing BMX bikes.

This year marks the introduction of a new activity called the Sydney Rides the Night event which happens on the final day of the festival. The riders will ride through streets illuminated with installed lightings with special features.  Mainly happening along the harbor area, this segment of the festival allows the cyclists to enjoy views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, which are the two most iconic images of the city of Sydney.

There is also something that a family of cyclists can enjoy. The activity is called the Family Fun Bike Day which is happening on the 19th of October at Pyrmont’s Pirrama Park. This is surely one of those activities that will bring family members closer to each other.
