Bananarama Australian Tour

UK’s biggest female pop group that toppled the waves in the 1980s is paying the Land Down Under a visit this February. Composed of friends with amazing voices – Sara Dallin, Siobhan Fahey and Keren Woodward – Bananarama is a sought after act, even in the 21st Century. Australian fans can’t wait to sing along with their idols’ hit singles that include Really Saying Something, Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye, Cruel Summer, I Heard a Rumour, and Venus among others. That is why, the Australian leg of their tour is well anticipated. The brash ladies’ concert events are happening on February 6 at Enmore Theatre and February 7 at Rooty Hill RSL both in Sydney; February 10 at the Canberra Southern Cross Club in Woden; February 14 at Wests City in Newcastle; and February 17 at the Juniors, again in Sydney.

The Sydney Chinese New Year Festival

Like in most parts of the world where Chinese influence is lively, Sydney celebrates Chinese New Year with a festival stunner, covering a good part of February. For this year, the Year of the Monkey will be welcomed with a bang, as usual. There will be a Sydney Chinese New Year Lunar feasts at various locations as well as a Dragon Boat Races, happening on February 20 at the Cockle Bay Wharf in Darling Harbour New South Wales. Lion Dancing is also continuously witnessed at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt since January 24th and it will go on until February 13th. There is also an ongoing Lunar Markets, featuring a pop-up festival of delicious Asian dishes at the Pyrmont Bay Park. Lunar Lanterns are also displayed at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt, from February 6th to February 14th. There are many other spectacles scheduled until the festivities wind down on February 21st.

Meatstock: The Music and Meat Festival

Also known as the Sydney Barbecue Wars, Meatstock: The Music and Meat Festival is another event that locals and foreigners alike look forward to. It is scheduled on February 13th and 14th and will feature lots of music acts, beer, barbecue, of course. Lovers of rock and roll and meat gather together for this event to witness the bands and the meat wars. Music acts that will perform at the Sydney Showgrounds include The Snowdroppers, The Beards, Davidson Brothers, Henry Wagons, and Mustered Courage among others. Apart from lively music, you may also get your feed of meat by watching through other scheduled events that include the Meat and Barbecue Expo, Barbecue Demonstrations, Cutthroat Barber Wars, A&E Sydney Barbecue Wars, Sydney Butcher Wars, Six Strings Craft Beer, plus so much more.
